09.25.2016 • my first week at ef new york

Saturday, October 8, 2016

Hi! Well, time flies when you're having fun. Very Cliché Renée, but at the moment it really says hom I feel. So I just use it and I don't feel sorry about it. It's the end of my first week at EF New York and I can tell you that I am very tired. There are so many new things, everything is so big and it's so much information in one week. It's all new and I will get used to it I think. Well no, actually I am sure about that. Besides the fact that I am very tired I am also very enthusiastic about everything. It already feels a little bit like home, or actually not like home but as a second and new home. Everybody is very sweet, even though I don't know everybody but I mean the people that I know, well, you get what I'm saying.

Tuesday we went to Times Square, well holy, that is so so BIG. I felt like a little (very, very little) gold fish in a big giant ocean. It's really weird being in New York City after waiting two years. I love New York City and I love the fact that I can see all those famous places from movies and all that kind of stuff.

Wednesday was my first class, my teacher is very weird but I like that. He tries to make everything more fun and I love that. We also went to a big (read: really big) shopping mall nearby. We went by taxi because people told us that it was $5 each. Not that expensive, well Elianne and I were together instead of a big group (no, they didn't tell us that they were with a group). So it was not that cheap anymore. At the end of the day we had a lot of fun and that is the most important thing so it's just something we learned from. OH, I spent way too much money, way too much!

Thursday was just a school day. After class we went to a Zumba class, we laughed very hard and we definitely want to go again. Friday we went again to the big shopping mall, I did buy some things but this time I kept myself restrained. It was really fun with everybody. We went with a group of seven Dutch girls and we laughed very hard. It's really nice to know that I am here with so many lovely people.

Saturday we went to the Global Citizen festival. That's a which I will tell you more about in another blog post. It deserves its own article. Sunday we did nothing, or actually that is not true. We did watch the movie Mean Girls. We grabbed the laptop, went downstairs and watched the movie together in the lounge.

Love, Renée
