12.19.2016 • my thirteenth week in NYC

A new week, a new blog. Hi again! I really loved this past week. This week was the BFF (Better Future Fair) and it actually was pretty fun. During the week were a couple small activities. I made a handprint on the wall with paint and decorated gingerbread cookies. Also, I made origami animals, which was so much fun because Elien and I do it all the time now. We found our new passion. All those small activities made the week a lot more fun.

Friday turned out very different from how it was planned. The plan was, nothing. Just relaxing. We ended up in Manhattan with David and Lucas. We went to the Broadway show Kinky Boots. In the beginning I didn't wanna go. Someone back home told me it was not that great. Afterwards I am so happy I got the chance to see it. It's such a great show. So from now on I listen to David or Lucas when they say a show is good.

Oh and afterwards we met Todrick Hall, like for five seconds, but we met him. He is so, so good.

Saturday when I woke up, the world was white. Really white. Not like before, a little bit. No it was really, really white. I really wanted to have a snow fight, but we didn't. The heaters didn't work in our building so I couldn't warm up. After breakfast I went to JFK with Bas to pick up his mom. The trip to JFK was very interesting. We had so much fun telling old stories, looking at people around us, enjoying the white world (I almost fell by the way, luckily I didn't) and so much more.

Back at the campus I didn't do much. In the evening my roommate made something typical from her country. I tried it and I actually liked it. But I don't know what it was, some sort of bread. But whatever, I think I can't explain it to you. I liked it and that is the most important thing.

I really looked forward to Sunday. We planned to go to the movies. Hello Collateral Beauty. Hallelujah that is a good movie. My friends and I cried, just like other people in the cinema. If you get the chance to see it, you really have to go if you like Will Smith movies and movies that are a little bit more serious. After the movie we went back to the campus. Later that night also Bas came back from his weekend with his mom. He brought stroopwafels, that is a typical Dutch cookie (two thin vanilla cookies with caramel between them). Bas and I downloaded the new Mario game and got addicted. If it didn't work out as we wanted it to we really got frustrated, oops. 12:30 am we decided to go to sleep, unfortunately I couldn't sleep. Yeah for the short night.

But now it's a new week and I can't wait to find out what it brings me.

ALMOST CHRISTMAS!

Love, Renée
